Convert Leads and Manage Accounts

When a lead is qualified, convert it so your team works from lasting records — a contact (person), an account (company), and often a deal in the pipeline.

Convert a lead

  1. Open the lead under CRM → Leads.
  2. Choose Convert Lead.
  3. Decide what to create: a contact, an account, a deal, or any combination that fits.
  4. Confirm names, owner, and deal details (value, pipeline, expected close) if you are creating a deal.
  5. Finish the wizard. The lead status becomes Converted, and the new records link back to each other.

You can still open the original lead for history; day-to-day work continues on the contact, account, and deal.

Contacts

Contacts are people — buyers, influencers, or champions at a company.

  1. Go to CRM → Contacts to search or create a contact.
  2. Link the contact to an account when you know the organization.
  3. Use the contact detail page for the timeline of activities and related deals.
  4. Keep ownership current so managers can see who owns the relationship.

Accounts

Accounts represent organizations.

  1. Go to CRM → Accounts to list or create an account.
  2. Open an account to see related deals, activities, and contacts.
  3. Use account detail for onboarding plans when your team tracks customer success after the sale (linked from the account, not a separate top-level menu).
  4. Assign an owner so territory and visibility rules apply correctly.

:::info Visibility follows your role Reps usually see their own records; managers and admins see the team or the whole company. If something seems missing, check ownership and your CRM role first. :::
