CRM Permissions and Troubleshooting
If a CRM menu is missing or an action is blocked, it's usually the module license or the user's CRM role. Your administrator manages both under Settings → Users & roles.
Roles, in plain language
| Role | What it unlocks |
|---|---|
| Sales rep | Create and edit own records; no delete or export |
| Sales manager | Team visibility; reassign; delete; export |
| Sales admin | Full CRM access including Settings and pipelines |
| Finance | Read CRM; commission board and related finance actions |
| Read-only | View CRM data without changes |
Finer control may also appear under Settings → CRM Permissions for admins.
Automate follow-ups (optional)
Trigger-based CRM automation — email when a lead is created, notify the owner when a deal is won, enroll a lead in a drip nurture series — is configured in Business Automation, not inside CRM Settings.
- License Business Automation and ideally Communication Center.
- Build drip sequence templates under Communication if you use nurture emails.
- Open Automation → Workflows and create a workflow with a CRM trigger (for example lead created or deal won).
- Add actions such as send email, create task, or enroll in a drip sequence.
- Activate the workflow.
Frequently asked questions
No CRM menu. The CRM module isn't licensed for the company, or you aren't in a company context.
I can't create leads or deals. Your user needs a sales rep, manager, or admin CRM role — read-only and some finance setups can't create records.
Settings sends me to the dashboard. Only sales admins can open CRM → Settings. Ask for configure rights or have an admin make the change.
I closed a deal as won but there's no invoice. Confirm Accounting is licensed, that Generate invoice in Accounting was checked on close, and that integration setup completed without errors.
Reports are empty. Widen the date range, clear an owner filter that limits you to your own records, and confirm data exists in that period.
Leads from the website aren't appearing. Check that the form is Active, the embed or submission token is correct, and submissions show on the form detail page.
This isn't the same as Real Estate leads. Property leads and bookings use the Real Estate module. B2B pipeline work uses CRM → Pipeline Board. Both can be licensed together.
Where do I import a bulk lead file? There is no import wizard on the lead list today. Ask an administrator about the supported import path for your company.
