Find Cash and Bank Tools
Finance Management puts period, bank, and asset tools under Finance & Accounting. Use this page to find the right menu, then follow the Accounting how-to for the steps.
These menus appear only when Finance Management is licensed for your company.
Period Close & Controls
Finance & Accounting → Period Close & Controls
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Fiscal years | Create a fiscal year, close or reopen periods, close the year |
| Accounting period manager | Open or close individual months |
| Year-end close | Move P&L into retained earnings and lock the year |
Closing a period blocks posting into that month. If a correction is needed later, an administrator with reopen access can reopen it.

Cash Management (bank tools)
Finance & Accounting → Cash Management
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Bank reconciliation | Match statement lines to payments and receipts in Biznsbook |
| Bank statement import | Upload a PDF or image; Biznsbook reads it with OCR for review |
You do not pick a bank when importing — detection is automatic from the statement text. Excel/CSV upload is not supported; after review you can export to Excel.

:::tip Prefer bank-portal PDFs A file downloaded from online banking usually imports more cleanly than a phone photo or a watermarked scan. :::
Fixed assets
Fixed assets appear in their own section when you can create journals:
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Asset categories | Book and tax depreciation rates for reporting |
| Fixed assets | Register cost and dates; dispose (sale, scrap, donation, write-off) |
Depreciation rates support reporting schedules — they do not run an automatic depreciation posting from this screen.
Full walkthrough: Track fixed assets.
Shared Accounting screens
If you only need ledgers and statements — trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, journal viewer, chart of accounts — stay in Accounting. Those screens appear when Accounting or Finance is licensed. Start from the Accounting overview.
