Inventory in Biznsbook: An Overview
Inventory is where Biznsbook tracks what you stock, where it sits, and what it's worth — from the moment goods arrive from a supplier through to the sale or return. It works closely with Purchase, Sales, POS, Warehouse Management, and Accounting.
What you can do
- Maintain a product catalog with codes, prices, and stock levels
- Receive goods from suppliers with a Goods Received Note (GRN)
- Ship goods and return goods to suppliers when needed
- Move stock between warehouses and correct quantities after a count or damage
- Track batches, expiry dates, serial numbers, and recalls
- See movement history, valuation, and health alerts like low stock and expiring batches
Stock updates automatically when you post receipts, sales, transfers, and adjustments. When Accounting is enabled, those movements can post to your general ledger.
Before you start
| You'll need | Why |
|---|---|
| Inventory module enabled | Without it, inventory menus are hidden |
| At least one warehouse | Receipts and transfers need a location — see Create a warehouse |
| Suppliers and customers set up | GRNs and invoices need a party — see Add your suppliers and customers |
| Inventory permissions on your role | Missing menus usually mean a missing permission, not a bug |
Finding your way around
| Menu | What's there |
|---|---|
| Inventory Operations | Health dashboard, fast receive, fast dispatch, stock adjustments, reconciliation, landed costs, warehouses, transfers, movement history |
| Inventory Tracking | Expiry tracker, batch detail, recall cases, cycle counts, warehouse map |
| Replenishment | Replenishment dashboard, requisitions, ABC/XYZ classification, forecast accuracy |
| Inventory Reports | Stock ledger and card, valuation, kit sales, supplier scorecard, dead stock, demand forecast |
| Inventory Settings | Thresholds, receiving workflow, expiry alerts, barcode scanner |
| Products | Product list, product groups, units of measure |
