Plan Material Requirements
Material Requirements gives you a quick net-requirements check across your planned and released work orders for a date range — a lightweight alternative to a full MRP system.
Run a check
- Go to Manufacturing → Material Requirements → New Run.
- Pick a horizon — the from and to dates covering the work orders you want to check.
- Leave Include Inventory demand forecast checked. This also reserves independent sales and usage demand, and explodes any finished-good forecast not already covered by your work orders.
- The run explodes each in-scope work order's BOM, plus the optional forecast residual, and nets it against current on-hand stock, open purchase order quantities, materials already issued, and forecast demand — leaving a net requirement per item.
- Any row with a shortage shows Raise PR — click it to create a purchase requisition immediately, pre-filled with the suggested quantity. If another warehouse has surplus, you may see Raise Transfer instead.
- Advance the run's status with Mark Reviewed or Mark Actioned — raising a PR or transfer marks it Actioned automatically.
:::info A run is a snapshot, not a live plan Past runs stay listed for reference, but they don't recalculate on their own. Re-run whenever your work order queue, forecast, or stock position changes materially. :::
