Schedule Work Orders

The Scheduling Board gives you a visual, drag-and-drop view of which work order is running on which workstation, by day.

Use the board

  1. Go to Manufacturing → Scheduling Board.
  2. Pick a date range — it defaults to today plus the next 13 days — and click Apply.
  3. Each work order appears as a colored chip in its primary workstation's row (or an "Unassigned" row, if no operation has a workstation yet). Chip color reflects status: grey for Draft, light blue for Planned, blue for Released, amber for In Progress, green for Completed, red for Cancelled.
  4. Drag a chip to a different workstation row or day to reschedule it. Only Draft, Planned, and Released orders can be moved — Completed, Closed, In Progress, and Cancelled orders are locked so you don't accidentally reschedule work that's already underway or done. Multi-operation work orders show one chip per operation.
  5. Dropping a chip on the Unassigned row is rejected — pick a specific workstation instead.

A successful drag immediately updates the work order's planned dates and the operation's workstation.

:::tip Watch for overload Each workstation row shows a load percentage — planned hours divided by available capacity for the range. Rows over 100% are highlighted, so you can spot an overloaded station before releasing more work into it. :::
