Set Up Workstations and Machines

Workstations are the work centers your BOM operations run on — they also power the Scheduling Board and OEE Dashboard, so it's worth setting them up before you build your first BOM.

Create a workstation

1. Go to Manufacturing → Workstations (under Planning).
2. Add a workstation with a capacity, hourly rate, and department.
3. Set required operators — this feeds the operator-coverage check on Work Order Details when Labour Scheduling is licensed.

Add machines

1. Open a workstation and add its machines — the equipment sitting under that work center.
2. Use Downtime on a machine row to log stoppages — breakdowns, setup time, material shortages — with a start time and reason. Click End when the machine is back up. This feeds the OEE Availability calculation.
3. Use Maintenance to schedule preventive or corrective work, and Complete it when finished — this updates the machine's last and next maintenance dates.
