OCR Permissions and Troubleshooting

If the OCR menu is missing or processing fails, start with licensing and engine status. Posting problems are usually row status or missing payment fields.

There is no separate day-to-day permission gate beyond the module license and company login for the main OCR menus.

Frequently asked questions

No OCR menu. Confirm the OCR Data Entry module is licensed for the company.

Engine not configured / not available. Ask an administrator to confirm the server OCR language data is installed and the application was restarted after setup. The dashboard shows engine status.

Processing fails. Check file format (PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP), size (max 10 MB), and image quality. Blurry or dark photos often fail or produce poor rows.

Background upload seems stuck. Refresh the batch detail page and wait until documents show Uploaded. If they stay in uploading, ask an administrator to check file storage and background upload jobs.

Cannot post. Rows must be Approved. The target module must be one of the six supported payment types. Older batches with a non-payment target must be switched (or re-uploaded) first.

Post fails with missing fields. Fill party, account, bank, and currency as required for the payment type you selected.

I need expense or supplier-invoice OCR instead. Use Expense for one-receipt expense claims, or Restaurant Invoice Scan for supplier bills — not this module’s payment batch post.
