Monitor Packaging Sustainability

The Sustainability Dashboard answers three questions for any period: how much packaging you put on the market, how much of it is recyclable, and how much recycled content it contains — broken down by material type.

:::info Not an EPR filing This is a packaging weight and recyclability summary for your own visibility — it doesn't calculate carbon footprint or file regulatory EPR returns. State packaging-flow reporting is handled by the separate EPR Packaging module. :::

Where the numbers come from

Biznsbook multiplies each item's packaging BOM — the materials used to pack one unit — by that item's actual sales for the month. There's nothing extra to enter. An item with no packaging BOM simply contributes zero to the footprint, quietly, rather than causing an error. For the best picture, make sure your top-selling items have a BOM.

What's on the dashboard

  • Four metric cards — total packaging weight (kg), recyclable by weight (%), recycled content (%), and the number of material types.
  • Monthly weight trend — a 12-month line chart of total vs. recyclable weight.
  • Material-mix donut — packaging weight split by material type for the selected period.
  • Material breakdown table — per material: total weight, recyclable weight and %, recycled-content weight and %, and the contributing transactions and items, with a totals row.

Choose a period and export

  1. Set Date From / Date To and click Apply — the dashboard defaults to the last 6 months.
  2. Click Export CSV for a spreadsheet-friendly file, one row per month per material, for external or regulatory reporting.

How snapshots work

  • A background job automatically snapshots the previous month on the 1st of every month, for every company using packaging BOMs — nothing to do on your end.
  • Snapshots are kept forever, so the trend line only grows — there's no delete.
  • If you fix a BOM and want a past month to reflect it, use Recalculate Snapshot: pick the month and click Recalculate (needs Manage access). That month is recomputed and replaced; other months are untouched.
