Track Packaging Consumption

Whenever a manufacturing work order completes for an item that has a packaging BOM, Biznsbook automatically records the packaging materials that run consumed — no extra step needed, and it never blocks the work order from completing.

Review consumption

  1. Go to Consumption History on the Packaging menu.
  2. The list shows recent records: date, work order ID, item, BOM version, quantity produced, total weight, and total cost.
  3. Click Details on a row for the full run summary — item, BOM version, quantity, weight, cost, and who recorded it — plus a material-by-material breakdown with each material's quantity, weight, cost, and optional flag.

Only one record is kept per work order — completing it again won't create a duplicate.

Optionally deducting stock

By default, recording a consumption entry only tracks cost and weight — it doesn't touch inventory. To have it actually issue stock:

  1. Go to Cartonization Settings.
  2. Turn on Deduct packaging stock on work-order complete.
  3. Link each packaging material to an Inventory Item ID.

With this on, stock is issued from the work order's source warehouse when it completes. If the setting is off, the link is missing, or a stock issue fails, the consumption record still gets created — it just records cost and weight only.
