Auto-Deplete Inventory on Sale
Auto-depletion removes recipe ingredients from stock as POS sales are made, so on-hand quantities reflect what the kitchen actually served — without anyone keying stock issues by hand.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings and choose a Default Depletion Warehouse.
- Enable Auto-deplete on sale. Read the warning carefully — make sure your active recipes are correctly configured first, since stock reductions can't be automatically reversed.
- A background sync runs every 30 minutes, consuming ingredients for posted POS sales whose items map to an Active recipe.
:::info Sub-recipes aren't expanded yet Only direct inventory items are depleted today — the same limitation as the COGS snapshot. :::
Depletion Log
Go to Restaurant → Depletion Log for a table of date, bill number, item line, recipe, status, processed-at time, and any error (hover for the full message). Filter by date range and status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Completed | Depleted successfully |
| Failed | Something went wrong — see Failures below |
| Skipped | No matching Active recipe for that item |
| Pending | Waiting for the next sync |
Fixing failures
Click View Failures to see only sales that didn't post. Fix the underlying cause — most often a missing warehouse — then click Reprocess. Reprocessing clears the prior records for that sale before re-running, so a bill is never depleted twice.
