Set Up Online and QR Ordering
Online ordering gives your restaurant a public menu page where guests order from their own phones — ahead as takeaway, or at the table by scanning a QR code. Orders flow to the kitchen display and a staff Kanban board, and convert into a sale bill for payment. Completely opt-in, identified by one unique public link.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings → Online Ordering and tick Enable online ordering.
- Choose a public menu slug — lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, checked for uniqueness as you type. This is your entire public address, so pick something clear.
- Optionally set a theme color, welcome message, estimated wait, a minimum order amount, a closed message, and toggles for Takeaway, Dine-in QR, and Require phone number.
- Save. Use Open public menu to preview it, and View Orders to jump to the board.
Print table QR codes
Open Restaurant → Table QR Codes for a printable sheet of every active table — each cell has the table number and a QR that opens the menu locked to that table. You can also download a single table's QR as a PNG. Scanning a table QR opens dine-in mode for that table; the plain link is for takeaway.
What the guest sees
The menu opens tinted with your theme color, with category tabs. Tapping a modifiable item opens the same modal used at the POS, required choices enforced, with a live price. At checkout the guest enters name (always required), phone (if you turned that on), and notes — provided the order meets your minimum. After ordering, they see a live status tracker (Received → Confirmed → Preparing → Ready) refreshing about every 15 seconds. While ordering is paused, they see your closed message instead of the cart.
Managing incoming orders
Open Restaurant → Online Orders (needs View restaurant):
- Orders sit in columns — Received → Confirmed → Preparing → Ready — refreshing every 15 seconds; a new order also raises an in-app notification.
- Each card shows the reference, customer, type, items, and total. Use the card buttons to move it forward, or Cancel.
- Every order automatically drops a kitchen ticket, tagged QR-table or Online, with the guest's notes attached.
- Convert to bill turns it into a sale bill, linked back to the order, for payment at the till.
Online order analytics
Open Online Orders → Analytics (needs View restaurant reports) for total orders, completed vs. cancelled, revenue, average order value, and an orders-by-hour chart.
:::info Public and rate-limited The public menu needs no login. Anonymous orders are rate-limited per device and every form is protected against forgery. :::
