Track Supplier Prices
Price Tracker watches what your suppliers charge and alerts you when a price moves beyond your threshold — with no extra data entry.
How prices are captured
Every time you post a GRN or enter a purchase bill for a supplier, Biznsbook records that supplier's price for each item on the document, automatically, in the background. Bills with no supplier (cash purchases) are skipped, and the same document is never recorded twice.
Price alerts
When a newly recorded price differs from the previous price for that supplier and item by more than your Price Alert Threshold % (set in Settings), Biznsbook raises an alert and adds it to the notification bell. The first price seen for a supplier/item is treated as a baseline — no alert — and you'll get at most one alert per supplier/item per day.
Using the Price Tracker
Go to Restaurant → Price Tracker:
| Screen | Shows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Unread-alert count, ingredients tracked, top 5 biggest price increases |
| Alerts | Previous price, new price, % change, status; Acknowledge once actioned; export to Excel |
| Price History (per item) | How the price has moved, one line per supplier |
| Supplier Comparison (per item) | Each supplier's latest price against rolling 30- and 90-day averages |
Acknowledging needs only View; the report screens need View restaurant reports.
:::tip Set a realistic threshold Too low and you'll get alerted on every minor fluctuation; too high and you'll miss meaningful rises. :::
