Create a Sales Order
A sales order commits a customer's order before you ship or bill it — useful whenever there's a gap between "they ordered it" and "it shipped and was paid for."
Create the order
- Go to Sales → Sales orders → Create.
- Select the customer and a default warehouse.
- Enter the order date and, if useful, a promised delivery date, then add line items.
- Fill in header fields as needed: currency and exchange rate, payment terms, credit days, contact, a customer PO reference, a ship-to override, and remarks.
- Per line: item, quantity, unit price (may auto-resolve from the pricing engine), discount %, line charge, tax group, warehouse, and an optional preferred batch or serials.
- Use barcode scan or CSV import for bulk line entry.
- Save as draft, check Submit for approval on save, or Save & Confirm to reserve stock immediately.
Planning hints
Each line can show hints for stock availability, open SO quantity for that item, and lead time versus your promised delivery date. A credit alert appears at the top of the order when the customer has a limit or overdue exposure worth flagging.
