Scheduling Permissions and Troubleshooting
If a Labour Scheduling screen is missing or a button never appears, check licensing and the fine-grained permissions on the user's role under Settings → Users & roles.
Permissions, in plain language
| You need to… | Permission area |
|---|---|
| See the Labour Scheduling menu | View Scheduling |
| Positions, locations, shift templates | Position / master-data management |
| Company Scheduling Settings | Settings |
| Schedules, Builder, Publish, Print/Export | Scheduling |
| Attendance and Timesheet | Attendance |
| My Schedule / My Attendance / My Swaps | Own schedule (self-service) |
| Manager Swaps queue | Swap approval |
| Analytics | Reporting |
| Cost Posting | Cost posting |
Exact permission names may vary slightly by role screen — ask your administrator which bundle matches your job.
Frequently asked questions
No Labour Scheduling menu. Confirm the module is licensed and your role includes view access.
Cannot publish — red conflicts. Someone is double-booked. Fix red borders in the Builder before Publish. Yellow dots are warnings only.
Staff did not get publish email. Check work/personal email on the HR record, or portal email for standalone employees. In-app notice still sends when email is missing.
Self-service pages missing for an employee. They may be HR-only without a portal login Scheduling can resolve. Link or invite a portal user.
Swap actions unavailable. Employee swap requests may be off in Settings, or the user lacks self-service / swap-approval rights.
Cost posting excludes many rows. Attendance must be verified and clocked out, with a known rate, and not already posted. Configure GL accounts in Settings first.
Generate Claims fails for casual overtime. Create an Expense category named Overtime (or code OT/OVT) with a GL account.
Expected mobile or QR clock-in. Those toggles are reserved. Use web My Attendance or manager / POS clock-in.
