Set Up Positions, Locations, and Templates
Set master data once so the schedule Builder has rates, colours, places, and reusable shift blocks ready to drag.
Company settings
Go to Labour Scheduling → Settings.
- Break & overtime — hours that trigger a break, daily/weekly overtime thresholds, and the overtime pay multiplier
- Minimum rest between shifts — hours that must separate two shifts for the same person (often 10)
- Feature toggles
- Open shift claiming
- Employee swap / drop requests
- POS clock-in with cashier sessions
- GL accounts — Labour Cost, Overtime, and Wages Payable (required before cost posting)
:::info Mobile / QR clock-in Reserved toggles may appear for mobile or QR clock-in. Self-service today is web-only via My Attendance — there is no separate mobile app or QR scan flow. :::
Positions
- Go to Labour Scheduling → Positions.
- Add each job role you schedule (Head Chef, Cashier, Machine Operator).
- For each position set:
- Default hourly rate (fallback when an employee rate is unknown)
- Minimum staffing (warns when too few people are scheduled)
- Required credential (optional) — warns if the assignee lacks a matching active operational credential in HR
- Covers-per-staff (optional) — for Restaurant staffing tips
- Colour for the Builder grid
Locations
- Go to Labour Scheduling → Locations.
- Create each place shifts happen — kitchen, warehouse zone, workstation.
- Optionally link a location to a Restaurant floor plan, warehouse, or manufacturing workstation so cross-module features work.
See Use Scheduling with Restaurant and Manufacturing.
Shift templates
- Go to Labour Scheduling → Shift Templates.
- Create reusable blocks (for example Morning Kitchen, 7am–3pm).
- Set start/end, break length, optional colour, and typical position / location.
