Run BOM Explosion

BOM Explosion Runs turn finished-goods forecasts into dependent demand for components so purchasing reflects production plans, not only component sales history.

This menu appears only when Manufacturing is also licensed.

Steps

1. Open Supply Chain Planning → BOM Explosion Runs.
2. Review nightly (and any manual) propagation runs.
3. Open Details to inspect component demand produced from finished-goods forecasts.
4. Confirm raw-material forecasts on the Forecasting Workbench reflect dependent demand after a successful run.

Same-day BOM edits are picked up on the next nightly explosion — not instantly. Keep manufacturing BOMs current before you expect component plans to move. See Create a bill of materials and Plan material requirements.

What is included

• Multi-level / sub-assembly recursion through active manufacturing BOMs
• Feed into advanced forecasting for raw materials and components

What is not included

Kits (sales bundles) are not exploded here. They continue to use Inventory kit logic — see Set up kits.

:::warning Manufacturing unlicensed later If Manufacturing is turned off later, BOM explosion stops running and component forecasts freeze rather than failing every night. :::
