Supply Chain Permissions and Troubleshooting

If a Supply Chain Planning menu is missing or an action is blocked, it is almost always licensing, a missing module (Inventory, Warehouse, or Manufacturing), or the wrong permission. Your administrator manages these under Settings → Users & roles.

Permissions, in plain language

TaskPermission
See Supply Chain Planning menusView supply chain planning
Change forecasts, seasonality, promotions, overridesManage forecasts
See the exceptions queueView exceptions
Run optimization; action Tier 1 suggestions; manage scenariosManage optimization
Drive an S&OP cycleRun S&OP
Approve or reject S&OPApprove S&OP
Supplier portal, forecast shares, PO commitmentsManage supplier portal
Warehouse networks and network runs (Tier 2)Manage network
DDMRP buffers and suggestions (Tier 2)Manage buffers

Scenario screens also need manage optimization rights in addition to view access.

Licensing notes

ChangeWhat happens
Turn off Tier 2 onlyNetwork Optimization menus disappear; historical network / buffer data should remain if you re-upgrade (not hard-deleted)
Turn off Tier 1Supply Chain Planning section hides; purchase requisitions and stock transfers already created stay valid as base Inventory / Warehouse documents
Manufacturing unlicensed laterBOM explosion stops; component forecasts freeze rather than erroring every night

Unlicensed tenants keep existing Replenishment menus and behavior unchanged. Supply Chain Planning is additive and invisible when off.

Background jobs (awareness)

Daily or weekly jobs refresh forecasts, exceptions, optimization suggestions, S&OP reminders, supplier commitment expiry, network safety-stock (Tier 2), and DDMRP buffer monitoring (Tier 2). If numbers look stale, check whether the relevant job has run and whether you are looking at live vs. scenario data.
