Run a Trace Report

Use Trace Report when you need one-up / one-back visibility for an FTL lot — a supplier question, a customer inquiry, or preparation for an FDA request.

Search (batch / TLC / GRN) → Inbound + Outbound → CTE timeline → Export
  1. Open Trace Report from Inventory → Reports → Traceability.
  2. Enter a batch/lot number, supplier TLC, or GRN number and search.
  3. Review the two chains:
    • Inbound (backward) — GRN, supplier, supplier TLC, TLC code, receiving CTE, batch/lot, quantity, warehouse, purchase invoice.
    • Outbound (forward) — invoice, customer, quantity, batch, TLC, shipping CTE, expiry, plus Toast POS import rows when present.
  4. If the batch is linked to a Batch Recall case, a recall link appears at the top of the results.
  5. Open the CTE Event Chain timeline to see every event in order; it follows batch genealogy from finished lots back to source lots.
  6. Click Export CSV to download the trace.

When a recall is involved

The Trace Report surfaces linked recall cases for awareness. Creating and resolving recall cases still happens in Inventory — see Track expiry, batches, and recalls.

Production lot graphs (which raw batches went into a finished lot on the shop floor) live under Manufacturing, not this Trace Report.
