Work with Both FDA and SFCR
Many companies license both FSMA Traceability and SFCR Canada. The modules share infrastructure but keep regulatory exports separate.
What is shared
- Traceability lot code allocation and propagation
- Batch tracking and genealogy links on inventory batches
- Automatic CTE capture from GRNs, transfers, and sale invoices
- Manual farm-side entry for Harvesting, Cooling, and Initial Packing
- 24-month retention warnings (no silent deletes)
What stays separate
| Topic | FDA | SFCR |
|---|---|---|
| Item flag | Is FTL Item (+ FDA product code, category, origin) | Covered by SFCR |
| Supplier profile | FDA registration, GLN, grower/farm | CFIA licence, establishment registered |
| Written plan | Traceability Plan (+ farm map) | Preventive Control Plan (+ PCP file) |
| Menus | Inventory → Reports → Traceability | Inventory → Reports → SFCR Canada |
| Sortable spreadsheet | FDA ESS | CFIA ESS (16 columns) |
| Events in exports | FSMA only | SFCR Canada only |
Dual-covered items
- On the item, turn on both flags in the shared FDA / FSMA accordion.
- Receive the item on a GRN with a batch (and supplier TLC if provided).
- Biznsbook writes one FSMA CTE and one SFCR CTE for that receipt.
- Open the FDA Trace Report for US chains; open the SFCR Trace Report for Canadian one-up / one-down. Each filters to its own events.
Use Management → Compliance & Sustainability when you also license Packaging or EPR and want a single landing page between sibling modules.
